What you see here is a ONE OF A KIND ! Martin Committee trumpet from 1947 #162021 with beautiful custom and original engraved bell. I have never such a gorgeous engraved bell than the one on this Martin right here. Engraving goes up on this bell pipe up to 1st valve. It`s mostly on the top of the bell pipe but also around the bell flare up to beginning of tuning slide when looking on the bottom part of the bell flare. Engraving is rich and crisp which tells that this is one of those super rare originally gold plated Martins made in the 1940s as a special order. This trumpet sounds really great. It is a medium bore Martin but it feels more like a medium large when it`s played. This trumpet came to me without leadpipe or water ( spit ) valves. I found those parts and my repairman finished the job as instrument of this caliber had to be put back to playable condition. Leadpipe is a Charlie Melk leadpipe ( his version of Martin Committee replacement leadpipe which gives slightly more open feel ) . It works very well. It was gold plated and put on the horn. It is slightly more rich in gold than the rest of the horn. There are slight wear spots on the gold in contact points on the valve casings in other words trumpet is not in mint condition but considering age of 60 years it`s in very good condition. Pistons have very good plating and compression is perfect as there is no air escaping anywhere when I blew to this horn and made a valves test. There are no dings or dents with the exception of one very tiny ping on the pipe connecting 1st valve with 2nd. Bell was never damaged or repaired. NO BRASS PATCHES ! Horn was chemically internally cleaned and is ready to play or up for display. Great addition to your horn collection if you are a player or a collector. DON`T MISS IT !
