Description
New Page 1 Flip Oakes Wild Thing Bb trumpet Currently selling new for $3100 with case. You can experience the same horn, for less money. I bought this in 2003 and have enjoyed it. I've played this horn on small group jobs, big band jobs, high volume jobbing gigs, pep band gigs in big arenas with DePaul. This horn can sound very warm. But if you lean into this horn, you can bury people, not cover, I mean bury. Flip Oakes Wild Thing, large bore, large sound. Why am I selling it? I'd love to keep it. I've got a list of horns that would make any white glove wearing, horn polishing hobbyist proud. The main reason is this horn never leaves the house anymore. It's become a garage queen in automotive parlance. The next reason is that I have been studying with Roger Ingram and have moved back to a high compression setup, to my 1977 Schilke B6L and a 1960 Selmer K-Modified. A major reason is that I need to purchase an engagement ring for my Colombiana fiance, soon, if I wish to remain structurally intact. There are a couple little pokes and dents that don't show up in the reflective pictures. There were a couple of small dents on the top of the bell where I dropped another horn on it in my practice studio...duh. Matt Johnson in Naperville removed them, ultrasonically cleaned it, and it looks very nice. Try it for three days, don't like it, send it back. If you're looking at this, you know what it is. If not, take a look at Flip's Site. www.flipoakes.com/ No Case. No Mouthpiece. Thanks, USPS Money Order or PayPal ECheck are the only two forms of payment I will accept. 100% Positive 96 Feedbacks Actual Shipping Pro Player May I suggest to all trumpet players reading this that you go to www.RogerIngram.com and purchase Rogers Ingram's new book "Clinical Notes On Trumpet Playing" sorry, this isn't a genuine Selman, it is isn't even one of those cheap imitiations
