Burbank Benge trumpets are rare, especially C trumpets.  Only about 5,200 Burbank Benge trumpets were produced over the 17 years of Burbank production (1953 to 1970).  C trumpets were only a small percentage of that production.  Joe Lill's Benge Website lists only 38 surviving Burbank Benge C trumpets.  These instruments were meticulously hand made and their precision and excellence make them greatly desired by symphonic players.  I have been informed that David Bilger, principal trumpet of the Philidelphia Orchestra, plays a Burbank Benge C trumpet.  Because Burbank Benge trumpets are usually owned by professionals who play them daily, examples in superb original condition are extremely rare. Burbank Benge C trumpet #4595 is in medium large bore (.460) with the orchestral style bell and was made in early 1961. The instrument is in stunningly superb original condition. The original silver plating is 100%. The valve compression is 100%. The original plating on the valves is 100%.  All valves are stamped with #4595.  The valve action is flawless.  All slides move easily and properly.  The horn has been pampered, receiving extremely light and respectful use over its 47 year history.  All metal parts are original with the possible exception of the third valve slide stop nuts.  The instrument is in as close to new condition as a collector could ever reasonably hope to find.  It is in need of no repairs or restoration whatsoever.  This trumpet is a dream to play and produces the classic orchestral sound that makes the Burbank Benge C trumpet so highly desired. I no longer perform in orchestral settings so it is time to find Burbank Benge #4595 a new home. I have provided numerous photographs.  The photographs are of the actual instrument at auction.  This instrument is gorgeous, historically important and will always retain high value.
