Trumpets aren't cheap. So the decission was to rent an instrument at $45 a month or buy, To buy seemed to be cheaper. My daughter stuck with it for one year and decided it wasn't for her, I wasn't happy, but I sayed nothing except I'm not buying anymore instruments if you change your mind again later. So that's the story, I am the proud owner of an instrument I can not play and know nothing about. So here is what you are getting. This intrument looks to be very old, I don't know, it just looks very old. The instrument looks to be made of brass, except the mouth peace, the name is American Standard made by Mary Pedler and Son, The case inside looks to be velvet and the outside looks to be snake or some kind of animal with scales. Now when I say that, I say that and I really do not know, it just looks like it, maybe the pics I took can help you out. There is damage to the case as you can see, maybe it can be repaired although if this is a collectors item fixing it may destroy the value. The instrument itself does play but does need a few minor repairs. 1. the spit valve needs a new spring, left the old spring in the case, 2. as you can see the middle valve needs a button or new valve. I do not know if you can just buy a button or you have to buy a valve. What I do know is that these parts are inexspensive and for less than $40 bucks everything is fixed. Does it play, yes it does as long as you can play, take it out of the case put the mouth peace on and start playing, I saw my daughter do it before the auction on this item. The case does have some writeing on it by my daughter, her name, a smiley face and some other little stuff. Ok, I described this to the best of my ability if you have any questions just ask, I will answer to the best of my ability or ask my daughter to see if she knows.
