Description
JAMES COWLAN 1830'S KEYED BUGLE TRUMPET CIVIL WAR ERA Search Here's your chance to own a very rare 1830's keyed bugle trumpet, made by James Cowlan from Liverpool, England. This rare keyed bugle is in good shape for it's age, and is ready for some professional restoration. This keyed bugle features seven keys, and is made of copper and brass, as seen in the pictures. The end of the bell is dented in and will require some attention. We could have had the restoration work performed locally, but have decided to leave that up to the new owner, since this is a super rare Civil War era brass instrument. Comes with what appears to be the original crook and mouthpiece. Anyone with more information on this fabulous rare keyed bugle, please email. In addition to the actual pictures of this Cowlan keyed bugle, we have included some pictures of keyed bugles from the fantastic book "A Pictorial History of Civil War Era Instruments & Military Bands," by Robert Garofalo & Mark Elrod, which is a fantastic reference tool for vintage brass collectors. Also, for more information on keyed bugles and keyed trumpets, make sure to check out the National Music Museum website. Thanks for looking!!
