Description
This is a 1948 Vintage & RARE Elkhart CONN 30H TROMBONE w/ Old ORIGINAL CONN Case.   I don't know anything about musical instruments but I will try to describe it as best as I can.  The serial numbers is 330251 which dates it to 1940.  Has a Wonderful Medalian that says CONN CHOICE OF THE ARTISTS and has a Logo of 3 Marching Men on it.  It is made of brass and I believe aluminum.  It has Gold Sparkly like pieces.  It has a few dents on the horn.  It appears to me to move smoothly but only gets a little hard when it's almost all the way out.  It's in pretty good shape for being from 1948.  It comes in it's own ORIGINAL CONN CHOICE OF THE ARTISTS case.  It is a blue green color on the inside.  It has the same Logo medalion on the case with the marching men.  It also comes with a long stick, I think you use this for cleaning it.  Overall, it's a nice piece of history.  No mouth piece. I am selling this AS IS, no returns, exchanges or refunds so please bid accordingly. See pictures for details. Payment by money order or cashiers check only. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Danny, An Ebay Member sent me some very useful information that I would like to pass on to you below. Thanks Danny! "Two different internet sources (including Conn-Selmer) indicate this horn was made in 1940. It's a Burkle model. The Conn Loyalist website says the 30H was a "duo-bore" instrument, with a bore of 0.494" and 0.507". It was produced from 1934 to at least 1949. What Conn said in 1938: These two [30H and 32H] new models were built especially for the theatre, dance, and other large organizations, where great power and volume are paramount. Designed by and named for "Jake" Burkle, dean of Conn experimental engineers, and considered by him to be two of the best he has ever built. Incorporate tapered bore throughout bell, tuning slide, bell taper, slides and hand slide bow. This design, together with new construction bell, produces great flexibility, plenty of bright tone of robust quality, just the right amount of resistance, exceptionally accurate intonation, and amazing ease of response. Every register is of same beautiful quality, the top register being unusually good." >
